We have found new ways to obtain the money or resources needed to help with our project. I have been working on my Final Genius Hour Reflection, and I am watching my time while I work on it to make sure I meet my deadline.

We are going to use our time to think about how much more we can help out our athletics program. We will work on raising money for more equipment as it is needed.
Cloud talks about how as humans, we need another genius mind to present itself. He wants to know whether being a genius is learned, or whether geniuses are born the way they are. We can apply this to our genius hour project by showing our progress throughout the year. We can show how we have gained new knowledge about helping others and other things connected to this project.
Mr. Cowen obtained the materials he needed for his 3-D printer from students at Michigan Tech. He presented his information by preparing visuals such as little 3-D printed objects and videos showing how to program the machine to create what you want it to. While he gave his presentation he had the printer making an object in the background so that when he finished he could show the machine working.
He overall had a very great presentation that was very interesting and very cool. Geniuses use different strategies to solve problems. Geniuses look at problems in many different ways. They interpret things differently than us. First they understand the problem and look at how they can solve it. Geniuses produce. Geniuses keep trying new things, or "experimenting" in a way, to solve the problem. Geniuses think in opposites. They think outside the box and try things that would seem weird or different to other people.
My genius hour project makes me want to try new things to make my project stand out from other ones. Seeing how raising money for football equipment could possibly help us makes me wonder if something this small could have a big impact. The article is all about how genius hour pushes kids to get passionate about a topic that they find interesting. It shows how some kids, even if they fail, never give up on their project.
I learned that failing is something that has, and always will, be a factor when trying something new. Giving up is giving in to failure. October: Start to plan out how me and my group are going to raise money for the football equipment we need for the upcoming season.
November: Continue to raise money for the equipment. Start to search for the correct equipment and break down how much we will need to raise for it. December: Buy the equipment that we were raising money for. |
